Johnny and Jenny

By: Me.

-Johnny pressed his face against the fogged glass of his shower door. He was searching for the reassuring glow of his docked Ipod touch. Johnny loved listening to his Ipod in the shower, it made the ever grueling task of making himself presentable seem to go by a lot quicker. His Ipod dock was a Bose, and was given to him for his birthday just this past summer. He had asked for it because he can feel the music pounding in his chest… well, even more so than it usually was. His dock was currently cranked and pounding out the overdriven sounds of Enter Shikari. However, he wasn’t looking for his Ipod for any reason, he was checking the time. His Ipod read 6:52 P.M. At that point, he halted in his tracks and stiffened. “Oh. Shit!” He had been in the shower for over an hour. A new record. “God damnit Claudio Sanchez, with your amazing lyrics and even more amazing hair!” He grabbed the towel off of the towel rack and forced the shower door open. It swung and hit the wall with a loud, forceful crack. He shrugged it off, for he was in such a hurry, and grabbed the blowdryer which lay on the counter. He proceeded to circle his head with the dryer, letting his long brown hair fall in front of his eyes. He was cursing himself as he looked at the newly undocked Ipod. It was now 6:54. He had 6 minutes. And counting. He couldn’t be late. He had been planning this all year. Tonight was finally the night. He finally mustered up the coruage to ask out Jenny. He swung the door open and ran to his room, he had to change. And fast.

-Jenny had been brushing her long, dark hair for the last 10 minutes as she gawked at her reflection on her computer screen. She was extremely nervous. Today was finally the day that Johnny had finally asked her on a date. She had been staring at him in Government all year. She was really attracted to the fact of how lively he was and how she always saw him writing stories or drawing something in his notebooks. She sighed of hapiness and glanced at the digital clock on her dresser. The glowing red display read 6:52 P.M. She grabbed one of the ends of her hair and nibbled at it nervously. She stood up from her desk chair after logging herself out of facebook. She walked over to her mirrored closet doors and looked herself over one last time. She had this outfit picked out since the moment she walked in the door after school. She was wearing her favorite Levi’s Super Skinny Jeans, the ones with the rip in the back pocket. She had heard that Johnny was really big into the band Coheed and Cambria so she was wearing the one Coheed shirt that she owned. Over that, she had a blue and black striped hoodie that her mother had bought her over a year ago, she had grown really fond of it. Since it was the time of year again when it begins to get colder when the sun goes down, she figured she would need it. 6:55 the clock read now. She sat on her bed and hugged her legs to her chest. She was ready for the date to begin any time now. She had been waiting for this night all year. She glued her eyes to her window next to her bed that overlooked her driveway. Every time a pair of headlights broke over the horizon, she sat up a little, but to no avail. She sighed and looked at the clock. It read 7:02 P.M.
